Embracing the current political SUCK with a BIG SMILE and HOPE?

IF you're running for President and your undisclosed NET FINANCIAL WORTH is over $200,000,000s, it's an extremely BAD IDEA to joke about being UNEMPLOYED with an audience of out-of-work voters struggling to keep a roof over their heads and food on the table. It's like joking about your sore GOLF knees to a room full of amputee combat veterans. Read More...

Apple has more cash than the U.S. Treasury?

Los Angeles Times (July 29, 2011) ~ "One of the reasons U.S. companies have amassed so much cash is that it provides them financial flexibility in times of heightened uncertainty," said Laurie Simon Hodrick, a professor of business economics at Columbia University's business school. "It might seem ironic, but as the risk of a government default grows, bringing with it the specter of higher interest rates, the incentives for firms to finance with internally generated cash grows as well."

Michele Bachmann for President? Why?

IF you want to sell books, land a job on FauX News, go Dancing with the Stars, earn six figures on the talk show circuit, use PAC money to finance a family BUS vacation & STAR in your own Reality TV show, RUN for President. For the record, Congresswoman Michele Bachmann is NO flake. It's a real pain in the butt to file for Federal Aid every darn year.

...Giuliani...

During an interview on CNN on July 17th, 2011, Former NYC Rudy Giuliani (R), when asked about the debt ceiling crisis said "Too big an issue to play chicken with." Later in the interview, he stated that "the Republican Party needs to get out of people's bedrooms".

Once again, it's not about a liberal or conservative. It's not about being a Republican or a Democrat. It's about doing the right thing for the right reason.

Debt Ceiling Debate?

Some members of Congress negotiate like the North Koreans. IF they don't get want they want, they threatened the nuclear option.

Obstructionism is not leadership?
FACT: The Federal debt ceiling was raised 18 times during President Ronald Reagan's 8 years in office. The last time Congress didn't need to raise the debt ceiling was under President Harry Truman.

The Greatest Show on Earth?

No culture in the world does fireworks like the Chinese!

When we moved to Changsha, the first thing my wife and I noticed was the sounds of fireworks going off at all hours of the day and night. I asked one of my students, "why do people shoot off so many fireworks?" He answered, "This is Hunan Province." Until our first Chinese New Year's celebration, I really didn't know what he meant.

Unlike the United States, where the most you can buy is a maybe some bottle rockets or roman candles, in Changsha, on every street corner, it's possible to purchase a professional aerial display for less than 10 dollars. Indeed, a friend of mine and I bought a single 75 pound display. The gunpowder packed in this one box could blow off an arm or a leg...

The following 30 second video was taken from our apartment balcony:

This exploding celebration went on for more than an hour.
Over 1,000,000 exploding fireworks! Truly Unbelievable!

Walt Disney (yes, Mickey Mouse) applied for a trademark for the name SEAL TEAM 6 to be used for toys and X-mas stocking stuffers. What's next? Replacing the original "It's A Small World" ride with a desert terrain, road clearing, air assault, urban warfare attraction?

The following comment was posted by a businessman living in Beijing on a friend's Facebook. While these are not my words, during my time living and working in the People's Republic of China, I reached the same conclusion:
"All of the recent Chinese immigrants I know have been brainwashed by too many years listening to CCP propaganda. I suspect some might also be actively collecting intelligence for Beijing. The Chinese student organizations here are riddled with spies and most of our most sensitive technological and research projects include team members who are more than sympathetic to the CCP regime. If we applied the same rules about 'foreigners' that the Public Security Bureau does in China, tens of thousands of Chinese immigrants here would be out of work tomorrow. A sizable majority of the country is outraged over illegal immigration from Mexico. They're looking in the wrong direction."

Heck, I don't need more "BANG for my BUCK". I need more BANG from that jar of pennies, nickles & dimes!

It appears that the political formula for a candidate is perfecting a single ideological pitch and then repeat it over and over AND over again. It doesn't matter if it's the truth, as long as what's being said contains enough FEAR & HATE verbiage to keep the audience happy and ignorant.
