GOP declares 'War on Women'?
In 2012, why is the word 'WAR' being used to describe each and every non-violent political debate, but an actual 'War', with bullets and bombs, is called a 'conflict' or 'military operation'?
The Shrinking Republican Women's Vote?

"Words can be deleted, but the facts won't be deleted with them."
~ Ai Weiei
On June 13th, 2009, my wife and I were still living in the Chinese city of Changsha. After lunch, I turned on CCTV to catch up on the latest news. There on my TV screen were the CCTV news anchors discussing Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's election victory with a visiting Iranian Professor and a representative from the Iranian Embassy. A graphic crawl indicated that CCTV had scheduled ALL DAY extended coverage of the Iranian Election.
After about 20 minutes, the TV went black. Roughly two minutes later, a travel documentary started airing. No mention was made about why the station went dark or the sudden, unannounced change in programming. Curious, this blogger logged onto the internet and discovered that Iranians in Tehran were taking to the streets to protest the election results.
Economic sanctions against Iran? What sanctions? One member of the security council will continue doing business with the current Iranian Government (as well as the DPRK).

Election 2012?
Paul Revere, after updating his status on Facebook and Twitter, sat down and wrote the disco hits "Ring My Bell" & "Macho Man". When asked about his opinion regarding "The King", Mr. Revere said what made ELVIS a "Great American" is the fact "the dude" learned how to shoot beer cans off a fence BEFORE he joined the Army. When he first set foot on the moon, George Washington is reported to have said, "The only thing we have to fear is fear itself."

President Obama is a "Snob"?
Is civility dead in 2012?
If someone called your mother or grandmother a "slut" or implied that your daughter or sister was a "prostitute", how would you feel?
Facebook Quote: "I drove behind a car with an Obama sticker on it, which means I'm a follower of an Obama follower, so I'm a gobless Commie, according to the real America. Right?"
"They (Republicans) want to bomb Iran, but they're afraid of Rush Limbaugh."

Toilet Maker Flushes Rush?
Whether someone loves or hates Rush Limbaugh, it's clear the $50,000,000 a year radio talk show host is being schooled on the economic fundamentals of the free market. Money will always reign king in the marketplace of ideas. And yes, "Freedom of Speech" has a price tag. Kohler joined Preparation H and pulled its advertisements from Rush's show.

Is this really 2012?
Are all Italians in the Mafia? Is every Arab a terrorist? Did Timothy McVeigh's politically motivated Oklahoma City Bombing represent the views of Gulf War Veterans or NASCAR loving Christians? Did Rush Limbaugh's misogynistic comments about Sandra Fluke reflect the thoughts and feelings of all Republicans?
Believe it or not, there was a time when people actually blamed rape victims because of their choice of clothing. Something is seriously wrong with Geraldo Rivera. He's never fully recovered from The Mystery of Al Capone's Vaults television fiasco back in 1986. Read More...
In the view of this blogger, so-called Christian Ministers preaching that gays and Muslims are somehow second class citizens is pornographic. Senator John McCain was a prisoner of war in North Vietnam for five and a half years. Tea Party fanatics posting tasteless comments on news reports featuring McCain is beyond political comprehension. His service to his country defines the very word Patriot.
At the end of the day, misguided hatred only breeds more hatred. And yes, young black and Hispanic men in this country are racially profiled by a small segment of the law enforcement community. Anyhow, the Trayvon Martin case is not about black and white, it's about doing the right thing for the right reasons. Why didn't the Sanford Police Department use the victim's cell phone to contact his family? Read More...

My Dog Is On The Roof? I Love Cars?
In 50 years, how will future historians and political scientists judge the impact of social-networking and unlimited Super PAC money on the ideological battles being waged in 2012 and beyond?
"Few businessmen are capable of being in politics, they don't understand the democratic process, they have neither the tolerance or the depth it takes. Democracy isn't a business." ~ Malcolm Forbes

Campaign Humor?
Sadly, this bit of YouTube political satire sounds less crazy than the candidate's actual quotes on the campaign trail...
Worst Political Joke of the Week?
Gynecologist to patient: Ma'am, I think I see your problem. There are too many Republicans in your vagina.

The idiotology of ideology?
Despite being raised in an "atmosphere of privilege", humbled by Polio when he was 39 years old, F.D.R. had "it".
Dwight D. Eisenhower also had "it". While it's difficult to pinpoint the exact moment Ike learned about "it", a tour of a Nazi Concentration Camp certainly contributed to his own personal awakening of what "it" meant for the future of humanity.
Henry Dunant. Mohandas Gandhi. Martin Luther King. César Chávez.
Richard Nixon became aware of "it" after Watergate. Jimmy Carter was judged for having too much "it". George H.W. Bush was only a one term President because he forgot about the importance of "it".
Desmond Tutu. Tenzin Gyatso. Aung San Suu Kyi.
Part of the message of the New Testament of the Bible is dedicated to the spiritual idea of "it".
In 2008, it was clear that Senator John McCain (a prisoner of war in North Vietnam for five and a half years) and then Senator Barack Obama (an educated black man born in America) both had "it".

So, what is "it"?
ἐμπάθεια. Einfühlung. Empathy.
It's an important human quality which separates a mere politician from a leader. In the view of this Blogger, Mitt Romney doesn't have "it". Indeed, Mitt will never have "it".
And for this reason alone, this Blogger believes the former Massachusetts' Governor will not, but more importantly should not, be elected President.
It remains to be seen whether or not the country is prepared for Mitt to be IT.

In fairness to the candidate, running for the highest office is a grueling experience. It's difficult to keep ones own mouth and mind on the same sheet of political music. With that said, once again, because Mitt Romney has never worried about keeping a roof over his head, for this reason alone, he'll never be able to connect with average Americans struggling from paycheck to paycheck.
And finally, how many of Romney's five sons have served in uniform? It's one thing to beat the drums of war, it's quite another to actually send ones own son or daughter into harm's way. Just ask Vice President Joe Biden.

Theory: Could an agent of a foreign government, employed by one of the major social networking services, directly access the accounts of human rights activists in different countries? For example, Facebook uses both facial recognition and global positioning software. Theoretically, anonymous user data, obtained using these specific technologies, could be shared between foreign governments attempting to suppress internal political opposition. Also, employing these technologies could cut both political ways.
